Is there a way to tell or find out what the pumping capacity of a pump is? The hyd pump that runs the Wagner loader on my 2n (probably original) leaks real bad. I have a new E.T.N pump that is about the same size as the old pump. Would it be OK to use that new pump?? Also,if you look at the top of the E.T.N.pump the arrow points one way. If you roll the pump over, it points the other way. What gives with that???

If you know the make and model of a pump you can do a web search and find all the capacities of that pump.

pumps run clockwise or ccw. For example arrow points to the right when on top=cw. Flip over arrow points to left. still clockwise.

There is a formula to check the capacity of a gear pump. If you need I can send it to you. Is your Eaton pump a gear pump or a vane pump. Rotaion is deteminde by holding the shaft toward you and then determining where the ports are. Remember in a gear pump the oil goes around the outside. Most pumps that you describe with the arrows like that are vane pump Eaton Owns Vickers) and you need to disassemble the pump and flip the vane ring over to change rotation. Questions?
