Want to know the first year John Deere put Roll-A-Matic on there tractors? I have a 45 GM with it on but that seems to early to be original equipment, thanks!

I am agreeing with you all... the 47 models were when it was introduced... and all it took is a pedestal replacement.

I think I read in the 2cyl mag that some of the ROMs were put out before that as tests I know our 46 B is not such equipt.

Your tractor, if it has ROM, should also have the battery box seat. That is because it was cointroduced on the late styled tractors in 1947.

The parts books do have a listing for the roll-a-matic parts used on the earlier tractors made before it came out in 1947 ? So I would guess they offered a conversion kit or something like that.

I believe the roll-a-matic came out on the late styled John Deeres in 1947. I have read the roll-a-matic was offered first to IHC and they turned it down. Dad had a 1944 G and it had the roll-a-matic but it had been added on later.

The ROM came out JUST AFTER the first late styled B was introduced in 47. I have heard of one or two on earlier tractors, but don"t know the story of how they got there.
