What kind of horsepower will be required to pull a 21 hole grain drill in loose soil? Can I pull it with my JD 50 - approx 30 hp is what it is.

Thanks in advance.

21 run not 21 holes. Are you pulling harrows behind? Kind of soil, moisture, hills, how worked up is the soil, seeding only or fertilizing at the same time, desired ground speed?

There's a HECK of a lot of difference in draft between double disc openers, single disc openers, and hoe openers.

I guess it would help if he had posted as to what type of openers he has!
