Fathers got a 93 Suburban with just over 400,00km and nothing major on it yet. Just the usual like brake and steering parts.
Go for it. I would guess she has life left in her.

If it were me I would buy it. I have a 93 gmc suburban with 236k on it and it still runs well. I would like to find me a 2500 4x4 truck or suburban myself.

Five hundred is pretty cheap for a 4x4. You could probably part it out and get your money back if it lays down and you don't want to fix it.

ABSOLUTLY buy it. TItle transfers license and registration plus paltes get way to expensive these days though 200+ when all said and done gets too expensive to buy cheap or even free cars and run the wheels off. as a kid used to run free or 50 dollar cars for a year and then get another but these days plates and title transfers too pricy. however 500 dollars the truck willbring that in parts easy. Rims will bring pry 100 for a set of 4, i can easily see you getting 100 per axle for solid axles and 100 for working transmission case etc etc doors if rust free tail gate if not beat up even if the engine pukes you will get your money back just dont let it penny pinch you and do a little here little there and expect it to last forever. itll nickle and dime you to death. run it but first major thing that happens chuck it.

Chris, $500 is cheap, but with 266,000 miles and a $500 price tag there may be quite some $$$$$ in keeping the truck running and moving. Unless you know the truck and the person well enough you can trust him and the previous maint. '88 was the first year on thesae I beleive and they may have some issues at them miles. I would have it checked out by a GM mechanic. you can easily spend $5000 if the engine, tranny, transfer case, or other parts of the dive train are worn bad. I just bought a '97 1 ton with a 454 2500# booster springs, with 5th wheel and snow plow ready with 160,000 miles for $3500, but I purchased it from my father in law who treats his trucks better than his wife , kids or himself. You may be better off spending a few more $ and get some thing newer and less wore out. Let us know what ya do.
