I am a tractor guy but I have a chance to buy an old airport tug and was wondering if anybody on here has one to play with and also if anybody knows a good website to find a couple of pictures and some info. I don't know what kind this thing is yet but it has a 4cyl. continental engine in it. Sure looks like it would be alot of fun to run around on.

Well, there are some pretty good sized ones at govliquidation dot com. And if go to its advanced military stuff, or something like that, you"d be surprised at what one can "try to aquire". But I"ve gotta think that if one tries to get some of the things listed there (the advanced military stuff, or however was termed), I"ve gotta think the guys in the dark sedans are gonna pull up and ask questions like "So, what exactly what you planning on doing witha SAM anyway", or something on anything similar.

But, for the most part, without trying to go to that area, can get a wide variety of tugs, cranes, compressors the size of houses, busses to convert to NASCAR party vehicals, etc.

Good luck, Mark

The small wheels, short wheel base and no suspension makes some of them pretty dangerous on anything but paved surface. My old tug ( a Delorian ) about killed me a couple of years ago. Good brands to consider are United and Clark. Thase two were kind of the leaders in the airport tug market and somewhat easier to get parts for. In any kind of mud be ready to walk home. Several tractor companies made towing tractors during WWII. The tractor conversions bring good $$ among collectors.
