Browsing around the local Goodwill store last night and my dad and I found about 20 gallon cans of high quality Sherwin Williams "industrial & marine" paint. I found about half of a can of JD green and it's "Alkyd Enamel." Also full cans of red oxide epoxy primer. To go with, an "epoxy hardener" to be mixed 1:1 with the primer. Why would you harden the primer? Well that's what it said anyway. At $4 a gallon I'll take my chances with this paint. I bought the green, can of primer(unopened), and can of hardener(unopened). I'd imagine it could be $50/gallon or so new. What do you think?

Used to work for a cleaning company and we had to rub out some of the old aisle ways and put new ones on in a large factory. Turns out that paint was bullet proof. We threw everything we had at our disposal at it and we could not get the stuff off. We had rental belt sanders that clogged after 2 feet of 6 inch wide line.
We ended up on our bellies with razor blades. It was a nightmare. We did finaly finish the major task. We then mixed up the 2 part paint and put new lines down.
I hope I don't ever have to go there and remove them lines again.
The paint is great stuff if it is still good. I have some safty yellow downstairs that I put on dock bollards.
$4 was great.

If the directions on the primer can says mix 1:1, one part is BASE product and the other is CATALYST. Check the product can for an expiration date. These 2 part products do get old. You may also have to reduce for sprayability too. MEK works well in general if the recomended reducer is not available. An organic vapor resprirator is a must.

The epoxy primer mixes 1:1 with a reducer, so one gallon of paint will give you 2 gallons of mix to spray. Check your local Sherwin for prices, but it sounds like you got one heckuva deal, there.
