After getting great advice from the folks here on the Super M alternator problem, my farmer friend has a Spra-Coup that as close a we figured the electric choke is not working. He is thinking it is some kind of VW engine and has a Solex carb on it.
I searched the internet with no luck seeing if you could just buy that part.
Anyone have any ideas on where we could find such a part?

Randy

Thanks for the tips!
We will pull it into the shop and see what we are dealing with. Hopefully something as simple as a solder job.

Call Davis Equipment in Des Moines IA. 800-747-8300. It might pay you to call the service dept. first. They have been a lot of help to me over the years.

I had the choke stop working on the Volkswagen engine with Solex carb in my 115 spra-coupe. You need to have 12V at the choke coil terminal any time the ignition is on. With mine the electric choke cover was ok,but the little lever on the choke shaft had broken off,so the thermostatic choke coil could not operate the choke . I was able to solder the broken lever back together,so did not ask the dealer if the part could be purchased seperatly.
