rust remover

hay tractor friends is their any thing I can put on some rusted shafts and grears that will remove all the rust and greese? the shafts and gears was rusted solid but the help of PB Blaster I got every thing lose but I didn't want to remove all the bearings and shafts and bead blast every thing thought mabe someone out their may know of an acid or any thing else that might work? thanks for any help btim

Turpentine works well to remove rust but it doesn't remove the bad looks that go with it. Also turpentine wouldn't be hard on the bearings where any acid would be.

If there's gears and bearings involved, I wouldn't think you'd want to bead blast or use acid!

Electrolysis works, but you'd have to take it apart, and it wouldn't be good for the bearings, either!
