I was looking out my living room window tonight I notice smoke down down the road from my dads place. Told my wife I was going to go and check it out. I took my camera with me. As I got closer I seen it was a grass fire started in the ditch and our local fire department had it pretty much contain by the time I got there. I asked them how it got started and he said they had a pretty good idea who did start it.
Police was called but couldn"t do nothing. Had to catch them in the act first.
I did see a four wheel with two people on it going real fast thru the field towards the wooded area to get out of site. I have a real good idea who it was! As I got to the corner to turn around to go back home I notice another fire down the other road with a lot of smoke coming from it. Didn"t get to see that one but there was another fire a couple of miles away on another ditch fire. I got home and the scanner was going nuts. The fire department ran out of man power. I guess they got them all put out. I guess we have to step our neighbor hood watch a little more. Sorry for the enlarged Picture had to do it this way to see it. Mike

We have had a bad problem around here with someone starting fires. The fire department has found fire works at each fire, so it was deliberately set.

Last week, I told family we needed to be very careful about fires, and that we were at the mercy of a carelessly discarded cigarette. (NONE OF US SMOKE>) Next day noticed a fire down the road a piece at the neighbors. Grabbed a couple of brooms and rushed down. Seems that he had a couple of old matresses that he wanted to be rid of. Well, it got away from him. Although he managed to pretty well get it under control by the time we arrived, he could have lost his trailer home, and about everything. He had breathed some of the smoke and was in pretty uncomfortable shape. Don't know if he took our advice, and went for medical treatment, but he sure should have. WORD TO THE WISE>>>> Careful with fires this time of year.

Hey Mike, It's hard to prove the evidence on them and have enough to make it stick. About all you can do is scare them off sometimes until some serious damage occurs unless you have a burn ban. Had a drunk nut coming out our way from town in a old bright yellow pickup one year that you could see for a long ways. He always seemed to be at the next 5 or 6 grass fires we went to. He had the balls to come up and proudly introduce himself to me. I asked sheriff and PD about him and they all said he was suspected of lighting fires. So had DPS come out next time and we all gave him a not so nice talking to and he never came around again lol. You don't want to be seen rubber necking at every fire as those are the suspicous ones we look for ;) lol. Already some little fires here too since the rain & snow so still need to be careful.
