Allen,

I did not say or try to imply, that anyone was slow to learn, a slow learner or rode the short bus to school.

It is very humanly to resist change. How many times do people say; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" or "If it was good enough for my grandaddy, it's good enough for me" (I use that one myself ! ;o])

Myself, I can't stand those jumping / bounceing blogs and such. I set my browser to let it do it once than stop. That way, it does not distract me.

I had a uncle that thought a V-8 in a car or truck was the worst thing that one could own. After driveing 6 bangers for 35 years, he gave in and bought a V-8 powered Bow Tie.....He never went back to the 6 banger's !

I thought I was being polite about people not likeing change and learning a new way of doing something. But, it seems that Dave H (MI), souNdguy and yourself read into what I was saying and came up with something totaly differant than what I had meant.

How about not trusting pocket calculators when they first came out ?

If you guys are "technology workers" you should know what I mean by "It is very humanly to resist change"

Have a nice day..... .

I don't know. I kinda like the avatars and banners the other forums have. On YT I can't tell if people are coming or going and very little about other members personalities. As their are no member galleries that you can post your own pics. So people can look you up and find out what tractors or trucks(plain or fully loaded) you have. I also don't like that no matter how active a thread is it still can pushed on to the second page(which I never go to), instead of staying on top. Then you won't have to have topics like "The New Forum Part II".

Now I wouldn't think of offering you any of them Canadian dollars, eh! Thought I'd write a check.

I don't know if this will work on the alternate forums or not -- but, on Red Power Magazine, I disable all the happy faces, etc so that they don't show, they are replaced by the titles of the expressions. That is, a frown gets replaced by the word "angry". Still there, but not as gaudy. I like to read and answer posts without being all "glittery". I also don't care for the posters that pretend they are talking and say Sooooo or Noooow, and use 27 exclamations points to make their case -- childish. End of rant.

Yes, I know, Sammy.

And quite frankly and to be really, really honest about it, I have to admit that this is the "cleanest" "alternate route" version that she has come up with to date and I actually kind of like it. Chop my knees out from under me and I 'spose I'd probably have to wander over there.

But the point I was trying to make is that for a lot of folks, it is not that we are resisting change; that's not the point and that is just not the issue.

Lots of us are straight ahead, down the middle of the hiway, "newspaper" type guys who still like the basic black print on a white background. It is just easier on the soul without the clutter. :>)

Anyway, whatever one's choice of either format, bless the woman's heart for doing what she does. Without her, you and I wouldn't even be visitin' here today. :>)

Hopin' you have a good one,

Allan

Apparently I missed the previous discussion so I had to go find it on page 2. I was beginning to think that maybe I was the only one that didn't like all that glaring flashy stuff. It appears that maybe I am in the majority afterall. I like my old tractors because they are plain, simple, and they get the job done. When I bought my truck 5 years ago the only option I wanted was air conditioning. When we bought the new Durango a few months ago for my wife we deleted as many options as possible. I have found other websites with discussion forums that are set up just as this one is now. YT is not the only fish in the sea, so far it is the best, but not the only one.
