Howdy,

Well, it was a tad cool but I hurried home from work last night and hopped on the R. Still have a little work to do on the 4 bottom's clevis so I had to hook up to my backup plow, a 2 bottom JD trip plow. It didn't matter to me. With snow coming and a nice evening I wasn't going to be stopped by a little plow/tractor overkill. Had a fine time and look forward to the snow melting so I can dig in again. By the way, anyone know of any JD R blocks sitting around anywhere? Anywhere that's not in canada that is. God bless.

I hurried home yesterday also for a few laps with my Ollie 77 pulling a 2 bottom Case trip plow. I had been waiting patiently for several months. Now today it snowed. Oh well.

Stop it!
You"re making me jealous.
It"s another 6 weeks around here before the frost will be out enough to plow.

Hey Jerry- remember how warm it was in Feb? Here the soil warmed so much that the frost was out- never saw that before. Tilers went back to work, neighbor drove into his field to check conditions and got his tractor stuck. Course the below zeroes the next week put frost back in.

Hi Jim,
I thought after I posted that we might have the frost out a little early this year. I was still thinking of the old rule of thumb about not being able to plow till the last weekend of April.

Haven't had any frost in the ground down here since 87 I think it was, in the heart of the Ozarks, but I'll guarantee you'll need every bit that R can put to that two bottom to keep it in the ground. I don't think there is a 5 gallon bucket of dirt on the whole place here. If it wasn't for the rocks, we'd just plain fall through. No kidding, you can't walk across the yard and scuff yer feet without dragging up rocks. Old, sharp, flinty, yucky rocks too. Not pretty round ones, just plain old, left over from somewhere else rocks, but it keeps the wannabe farmers away. Ya got to have vision to try to farm here. Harley
