Well that snow made it to eastern Iowa.
Bout 2" on the ground this morning and still snowing.
Allan hasn't posted in awhile.
Hope the snow didn't get the best of him.

While we are at it: TV showed I70 closed east of denver...Two fellows dressed like hunters in a 4-whell drive couldn't understand why they wern't allowed to go east... next car had a nice looking young lady in a black slinky dress with open sholders and no jacket..what a mess if they let a 1000 like that get out there in Eastern Co with the wind blowing. People out on the road got no sence any more. Allan, your supposed to put all those IHC wheel weights in to that Ford for the winter.

Mornin' Ken,

I still get shivers thinkin' bout that darned I-25. Bumper to bumper clear up to 15 miles north of Cheyenne. And that was on a nice day.

I think they should have left it as a cow trail; I could handle it better back then. :>)

Yeah I know. Might have to hook ol' Bobbin and Missey to the sled 'fore this is all over. :>)

Allan,
I thought I told you to stay off of I25 and take Hiway 85! I was up in Carpenter, WY on Saturday to preview an auction and took old 85 back down. No traffic and pretty country with a lot of antelope. Are antelope smarter than deer? I rarely see a dead antelope on the side of the road, but I sure see a lot of deer.

Curt,

It's awfully hard fer me to follow directions while at the same time shakin' and wettin' my pants in all that traffic. Hard to keep a hold of the steering wheel. A couple of times, I thought I was going to have to jump. :>(

All the way home, I kept thinkin' I was sure glad I had insured that old truck before I bought it. :>)

No, I'm pretty sure that deer are just suicidal.

Allan

I think that was his name. He does tractor repair and is arranging the consignment sale. They have a couple of H's and a 460 for salvage. I drove a nice IH 1256 that was consigned. Most of the stuff was not on site yet.

Maybr I was thinking about the wrong sale. There is a Mennonite that lives just south of Carpenter that has a repair shop-name of Clay Derstine. SUPER good mechanic and reasonable. He tends to specialize in Red but god with green and other colors as well.

Clay is the guy. He had a John Deere transmission all over the shop and was in the process of skinning a hog when we stopped by. Should be a good sale, but I don't know if I can get off work for it.

North of Denver--Loveland/Ft Collins was one of the nices places on earth til they Californicated it. Wish they would all go home. Used to see the mountains, now all I see is smog.

We are seein’ it here too.

Last fall, my neighbor sold 1100 acres of vertical ridge timber for $805 an acre. Some sidewalk jockey wanted it so he could go out and "hunt".

Then, there is the ol' boy up across the line in South Dakota who is bookin' in the city boys from back east to fly in here and lettin' 'em shoot prairie dogs on his place to the tune of $4K a week.

Gimme strength! :>(

Get ready, there's more on the way.

Buried the Powerstroke yesterday clear up to the nubs. Darned 4x4 ain't what my old Chevy is, that's fer sure; might have to fire that old beast up and bring 'er back out of retirement.

Gonna go try 'er again this morning 'cause I 'spose I'd better feed ol' Snort and Willy ya know. :>)

Hey old pard, my folks in southwest Iowa said you didn't keep all of that white stuff for yourself. They got about a foot on the ground and expecting 2-4 more this morning. Mom said I-80 was closed intermittently across Nebraska and west. This is supposed to be spring, what are you guys doing up there. 40 here right now at 0820. Harley

Ya Larry, this is EXACTLY what we were talking about a couple weeks ago. Get caught out there in Norfolk and west in this stuff and you'll be there till spring. Oh wait it is spring. Well you'll be there till it melts anyway. There used to be a cut just east of Norfolk on 275 and when it snowed the wind would fill that cut with about 10 ft. of snow and nobody went anywhere till they got the blowers out and shaved a hole through it. Nope, don't miss that stuff at all. Allan can have it. he's hardier than I am. I'll stay down here in the south. Harley

I'm not sure.

I think maybe it is Nebraska Cowman and Wyoming Dave's fault. They are in the middle of calvin'.

Soon as they get done, I'm sure this will all clear up and the weather will turn off to be real nice. :>)

Now you can't blame this on me. I'd take some nicer weather, but I can't do anything but love the moisture. Had 12 calves today, and they were all born in snowbanks somewhere, or at least so it seems. Have cattle in barns all over the place tonight. Dad's on the night shift, and I'm doing days. Hope his night is better than my day.
David
