This is a common problem caused by turning the steering wheel too far. It can be fixed without taking the gearbox off. Disconnect right and left tie rods then pull the left arm rearwards as far as it will go then the right arm forward to unmesh the gears. Re-engage with the pinion [wheel]if not syncronized do over slightly pulling one side or other. When in propery both side arms at center travel will point slightly to the rear. This is right out of the manual and experience

with out seeing it I would say that a steering linkage is either broken or bent
if the wheels both move when you turn the steering wheel. its a bent linkage. if only 1 moves its a broken linkage.

Jack the front of the trator up and turn the steering wheel all the way in one direction then see if you can bring the wheels back in line. If not try the other direction. the main thing will be to find out why it happened to avoid it happeing again. You may also want to post on the 9N/2N/8N board for quicker response to N questions.
