Fella stopped in the other day and wanted to even swap me. I got the 2520D syncro cheap through a debt owed to me. It has a brand new fuel system on it as well as a recent engine overhaul that I did. I will be looking at the 1066 today. I drove by it yesterday and it appears to have good rubber 20.8x38s on the rear, a year round cab. The 4wd unit dosn't appear to be the Elwood unit that most people prefer around here. What were the other type of 4wd units out there? Were they any good? Parts? And would this be anywhere near an even swap?

Thanks for all the resposes. I'm still not sure what I'm gonna do, but I did get over to see the tractor today and it is in good shape with only few minor problems that can be easily taken care of. Good 1066's with Elwood fronts go for $10,000 to $14,000 round here, they are very popular with small farms on our heavy clay fields. I'm gonna hafta talk to some parts suppliers about these Coleman fronts before I go any further. I've been offered $8000 for the 2520 so far. So it's gonna depend on what I can get outta the 1066(I don't plan to keep it) before I'll seal the deal.

I dont know squat about the power front end, that might make that 1066 worth more than I will give it credit for,,lots of 1066s around,,not to many 2520s,,,a 1066 is like a can of coke and theres a pop macine on every corner,,,my two cents,,,billy

A 2520 and a 1066 are not even in the same league. If he wants to trade straight across there surely is something wrong with the 1066.

Colmans are very good. They were used for optional 4WD units for large size (class 6-7) GMC and other trucks. I wouldnt be afraid to have a Coleman 4WD on my tractor or truck. Not sure about parts availability, tho.

You might ask about the Coleman front axles on the Moline board, they used Coleman in some tractors from the factory.
