HI

What a Huge Mess, There is only one Survivor.
Questions is why did it take 3 hours to correct this? They knew with in 20 minutes after they said , they where alive and they, Knew they were dead. Just a Great Sin as far as I'm concerned.

God Bless the family in this.

Teddy

The first team in came up on the makeshift barrier that the 12 build, and they radioed back to a second team who would relay that information to the command center. Since they were in protective gear that would hamper the clarity of the transmittion. The first team is reported to have said that they have located the barrier and the miners (have located their position), but said nothing of their status. When that was relayed to the command center, somebody used their cell phones to call their friend/coworker's family and said that they were found alive. The company officials at the center said that thye would not release any information until it's verified. It was probably at least an hour or so before the news of the celebration in town came back to the command center. Someone, without clearance, took information, came to their own conclusion, and released the new information on thier own.

I heard that the initial news was that there were 13 bodies found. Someone overheard and spread the news that 12 were alive. The reason the survivors weren't told different was that in reality the rescuers weren't sure how many were actually alive until they got everyone out. I think they were afraid to say anything until they new the truth, which is what the person who overreacted to what he thought he heard should have done. Very tough situation to second guess. Extremely sad for the families. Bob

Having been an underground miner for 40 years I know first hand what the family goes through when they are waiting for word about a relative or friend that is in trouble underground. The anguish in undescribable!! I have been one of the unfortunate ones waiting for word, and I have helped bring out three friends that perished in accidents. I cannot imagine being told that all is well and that not being the case. Those families lost their loved ones twice !!! Please pray for them .

Hi Teddy,

I was watching when the news story broke at 3:05am EST. The mine super/spokesman said they were talking with the family's for 3hrs before they made the second press release. At that time he said the family's had known since midnight what the true out come had been.

Prayers to the family's

Let's pray for the families of the deceased. Most people don't have a hint of the depth of the emotions these people are going through. Jim

I believe the Media is the one that needs to do the "Splainin" since they spread information like wildfire without any confirmation from officials, just so they can look like the first to bring us the news! Oh, but lets don't hold them accountable for their actions, lets just blame it on the people working relentlessly day and night to rescue them.

Let's all keep these families in our Prayers. And also pray for the one man who did survive, and his family.
