What's a ford country super 6? One listed on E-bay. Is it like a early TW5, TW15, or something?

I just saw one of these odd tractors at a sale today. This Super 6 had a diesel in it too. I got some numbers off of the aluminum tag but a hole was drilled through two or three digits of the serial number. I left before it sold. What is the value of these?

If I remember correctly, it's not referred to as a "country" but rather a "County". Roy in the UK knows about them. You might find him on the Fordson board.

Im Flattered! I am no expert on the County tractor, but here goes. County Commercial Cars made a series of tractors built around Ford skid units,( However, they did produce a 4 wheel drive tractor based on the International 634) they even built Crawlers at one time based on the Fordson Major. The Super 4 was a Fordson Major with 4 equal size wheels, the Super 6 was Similar but with a 6 cylinder engine. The company no longer exists, they went out of business in the early 1980"s Ironically it was Fords decision to build their own 4 wheel drive tractors that killed them off.

I had one and it had a Ford 330 engine, apparently known as a Dorset(British Truck engine) and when it disintegrated, I sold the tractor. Found out later those engines were used a lot in Fishing boats and there were a bunch of them in the New England area.
Unstoppable in the field, but the turning circle was absurd. A great favourite with collectors these days.

I've only seen one here in Maine 15 years ago we put a clutch and power take off in one. The model 1124 was built from 68 to 72 and the 1164 from 72 to 78. They had a 6 cylinder engine and the 8speed trans and rear axle were the same as the 5 and 7000.

It is a four wheel drive FOrd. The first ones were Ford Majors and then Super Majors. All 4 wheels are they same size. They were built in England.

Thanks, now I found it in my tractor price guide. He only missed the year by about 10 years. Once had a Major, wish I still did.
