I'm looking for a good choke cable. The ones I've been using seize up in relativly short order or the knob breaks off. I would like to find a source for a good, weatherproof, heavy duty choke cable. thanks

Get a piece of neoprene gas line and put the choke cable in it. Fill gas line with thin oil, put a small hose clamp on each end. As long as the ends are higher than most of the cable it will retain the oil for a long time and work nice.

I have had good luck with Napa they have heavy duty cables available some stores have them in stock. I have a catalog and could look up the numbers if you needed me to. I also have some available for tractor applications. Let me know if I can help...Have a Safe and Merry Christmas

I also tried several choke cables and found they were either too short or too weak. Then I saw a nice hefty cable , which was a stop cable for a diesel engine and I use them on my tractors for choke cables. They were red with stop on them but when I paint my tractors I paint them black and they really look nice.I've used them on all my Farmall's. Bought it at tractor supply

Or you could try what I do to all my cables. I pull the center out and then as I feed it back in I coat it with never-sez. I don't know how the long term effects will be,but it's bound to help.

you might try asking for a marine choke cable at an auto parts store. used to sell them for forklifts that sat outside, the cheap standard ones rusted up very quickly. expect to pay a LOT more.

This is the best cable I've found so far....plastic lined & stainless steel.

The factory ones that you get from Case I H have a covering over the cable and hold up fairly decent and i think that you can get a sheilded one from NAPA.the biggest problem is whenwater can run down the cable and freeze we had that problem on the 580 C K Case back hoe since it was a gasser the choke was on top of the dash and would freeze upif left out in the rain just one time and it would seem like it would never dry out and if it was pulled outside in freezen tempatures it would freeze every time after nomatter what ya tryed so we made up a mounting bracket that placed it under the dash and out of the weather and that fixed it .
