It's my fault. I bought a tractor 518 miles from home and it just keeps on snowing. One of these days we will get a break in the weather. I need three days of no snow to go get the tractor. The people I bought it from say seeing as how I paid for it and they have the room it can set there until the weather clears and I can come get it. My wife says that I am almost as impatient as a little kid waiting for Christmas.

Been there, done that got the 460 too prove it. Two weeks ago yesterday dad the kids and I went to look at a 460 Farmall for my daughter, and dad asked if I wanted to take the trailer and I said yes, 4.5 hours one way and I didn't want to make 2 trips, that morning I got the weather and it was ice storm but I said what the hay but after driveing for 5 hrs in an icestorm on the way home I said never again (yea right). John I know what you mean! I bought a tractor a few years back that was in Cavalier, North Dakota in JANUARY, before I realized what I wuz gettin into, being from Alabama, where snow and 25 below is not even comprehensible. I'll never do dat agin.

Good luck.
Rex

Dixie,

Next time you find a tractor for sale up here in the God-forsaken frozen North, just buy it, and let me know, and I'll go get it, and save you from the cold!

Amen.

I posted a topic called "How to retrieve your tractor" a few weeks ago on this very topic. Go ahead and brave the conditions, and make sure it's dark when you get there. It would make me feel better and not look quite so stupid... At least there would be two of us.

And, if at least 3 of the 4 tires on the tractor aren't already flat, be sure to have the PO flaten them before you get there, no reason to make it easy to load. And, be sure there's enough water in ther rear end so it freezes the drive train solid, so the tractor won't roll!

Boy, do I ever hear that!

Went in last week and paid for an old combine I've been droolin' over fer the past 6 months. Been around these things since forever and know 'em like the back of my hand.

Still and all, just can't wait 'til they deliver the goofy old thing out here. :>)

All things shall come to pass, they say. :>)
