Is it me or is nothing selling? I have noticed how very little has been selling it seems as no one is buying antique farm machinery. Is there a reason for this? Just curious.

I'm buying! But like the others said, shipping is a problem. Turned down a tractor I had been really looking for because of the cost of trucking just last month. Sorry, but sellers are going to either have to put their stuff back in the barn and hope for the best or start dealing on the price a little more. It ain't the good old days and I can't pay $1500 to ship a $3000 tractor. It has taken a lot of the fun out of it.

One simple (to me) reason. Cost of picking up anything. I went back to Chicago area end of October (from Southern Calif.) to pick up a tractor, the cost of gas alone was almost $1250.00. My truck runs about 10 -11 mpg with the gooseneck trailer. It was almost twice what I paid for the tractor. Wanted it for parts, makes awfully expensive parts. I want to get a couple of more but fuel costs hold me back and truckers can't due any better either. They have to make a living. Chuck

I've noticed that also. Last year I sold 4 tractors, this year only one. Right now I have 7 tractors and some equipment for sale.

Old, I know just what you mean. I've bought and sold 34 tractors in the last two years on that other auction site, and don't have a one for sale now and don't plan on it in the near future just because of the diesel price. I don't need the experience and that's all I would be getting out of it. Luckily the last one I sold I didn't go very far to get and it sold right away and that left me empty. Great timing. It was fun while it lasted and I met a BUNCH of super fine people, but just can't justify the cost anymore. Harley
