I bought this truck in 01 with 18K and it now has 65K, put monroematics on it right after I bought it. I think it has the HD suspention as it has always rode rough. I also bought larger truck tires for pulling a trailer which it does well, just rides rough empty. What kind, brand of shock absorbers would you suggest? (still hd, but with a better ride) John L.

My 01 Ranger still has the OEMs on it, and the ride is quite good.

The engineers at Ford know best what tires and shocks will work best with the vehicle.

I gave up on the HD shocks and put stock shocks back on and get the ride back , On my old 88 F 350 i put new Monroes on and the only thing that they had was H D and made a log wagon out of it and when it got cold out you could not stand to drive it pulled them off and went to Ford and got the OEM's and the ride came back .
