Thanks for the suggestions guys. Its a 25hp opposed twin in a JD 70 skidsteer. Havent tried deere yet, I hoping to try and find someone somewhat local with parts. Turns out I blew a head gasket and this is my snow removal machine. and we're supposed to get some more snow soon. I will try deere and a few other places. This is my first Onan powered machine, where would I find the model/serial tag? Thanks for your help guys

As an added side note, be prepared for some major sticker shock for new parts for Onan engines. Prices on these parts and whole engines are twice what the others cost for half the quality. I priced a new Onan 20 horse short block for my Lincoln 225 portable welder from Cummins,$2,100 plus shipping. I could get a new complete Kohler magnum 20 horse from Northern hydraulics for $1,400. So I'm parting out the Lincoln and bought a decent used Lincoln engine drive welder with a Continental engine for a grand. The Onan engines IMHO are not worth screwing with.

Cummins owns Onan. Usually your local Cummins dealer has Onan stuff also. At least they do in Houston, Texas.

I had an Onan engine in a Bobcat - the Cummins semi tractor dealer in Sioux Falls, SD became the parts guy (the Bobcat dealer told me this) so I went up there - they had new Onan engines and had all the fiche cards so they could look up any Onan part - they got what i needed -

the bobcat has since died

Hi, Mike -
I belong to the Case garden tractor group at Yahoo, and a couple of places I see recommended there quite often are (1) www.casegardentractors.com which is a dealer in northern Illinois but will ship parts anywhere, and (2) www3.sears.com/ - if you have an Onan part number, you enter it into option block #3 on that web page using periods instead of hyphens. For example, 123-456 would be 123.456.
I haven't ordered from either place personally. I'm just passing along what I've read in the Yahoo group. Hope this helps.

Mike. There is a lawn mower scrap yard near Seneca Falls and I have purchased Onan engine parts from him. He can supply many parts. If the engine was in a Deere product they can also supply manny parts.
