I"ve known for a while I was gonna have to put something on the bottom of my blade. It is a king cutter and they don"t make em for it. Any ideas as to what to use for skids? I am thinkin of a leaf spring from a truck and cutting it to get the shackle ends to fab up and bolt to the blade. Richard

I had the same problem last year, I got a set of snow plow shoes and made brackets to hold them, kept the blade of the ground but cut two grooves in my stone drive. This year, I mounted two steel wheels{ the type from scafolding} works excellent, I can adjust to leave a 1/2 inch of snow! If you want a picture Email me. Dave

Richard,
I was having problems with tearing up my lawn first thing this winter. I ran across a thread on another web site talking about this. And the guys said to use pvc pipe. I ended up taking a 2 inch piece of pvc pipe and cutting it to the length of the blade. Then I took the skill saw and made one cut length ways. And for the finish just slap it on the bottom of the blade it will hold itself on! I have plowed 5 times now on concrete driveway with the blade straight and angled with no problems. Worth the couple dollars to give it a try. Any question"s let me know. Mike from MI

I use a piece of 1 1/2" black iron pipe with a slot cut for the blade edge. I would think that PVC would shatter the first time you dropped the plow to bush snow.

There might be something in the archieves. I thought I saw where someone put a piece of PVC pipe on the cutting edge, cut a slit on it and slide it on.
