Does anyone out there know the year(s) that John Deere used a coil/distributer on the LUC vs the mag?

Although I don't have it in hand, I'm sure I have a coil unit.

Do you have any names or numbers off of it ? They did use at least 3 different types of Magnetos that I have seen so far. The Wico type C has an external coil wire this may be what you are thinking of ? Someone could of also added an external coil and just use the points to fire it ?

I don"t think they ever did. Is yours a 2cyl. or a 4 cyl. unit. The 4 cyl. units (HA92)used on the 25 combine did use a battery ign. I think ?
