i have a 1943 ford fergusen i have replaced the plug wires with oem wires,spark plugs, dist cap,coil. have to jump start battery dead wont hold charge. after it runs awhile it sounds like it looses power especially if i engage pto could battery have something to do with this? please help

Make sure that all of your parts are compatiable, 6volt with 6 volt or 12volt with 12 volt. Also check your frame ground cable from the battery. If it does not have a good, clean connection it may affect the performance. Have you done a compression check?

Well if the battery is bad and your genny system isn't working 100% then yes that could be your problem. Weak battery makes for weak spark weak spark makes for weak tractor.

Make sure you put plug wires back in correct order. If you didn't will probably run OK but have no power. I think firing order is 1-2-4-3 but not for sure.

double check the coil if it has 6 volt battery you need 6 volt coil
