I have been looking at a Ford 800 that is in pretty good condition and found that the hydraulics are extremly slow and there's no down pressure on the lift at all, Is this true with all 800's or could the pump be bad or about out.

If you're talking about a loader that's running off the tractor hydraulics, it may be totally normal. If you're talking about the rear lift, no down pressure is normal for a 3. hitch but yours shouldn't be slow. One thing to check is the pickup screen. If it hasn't been cleaned for a long time, it's very possibly getting clogged.

Even when new there wasn't any down preassure. As far as being slow it depends on what oil is being use, how cold it is etc.
