I tipped over my bobcat mt52 today, nothing seemed damaged , spilled a very little diesle fuel, I shut the engine down immediatley, and "righted" it... Now it just "clicks" it seems the starter is engaging,, but fly wheel seems locked ? or hydraulic pump engaged?? is there a rollover shutdown? or worse?

no owners manuel,,, used equipment,

I certainly won't try to 2nd guess thes gentalmen but before you do that check your battery. If the battery was upside down it may have grounded itself out. So before you start anything really difficult try it. If it did you may have to get a new battry or just let it set a while and top it off with electrolite & charge. Then if its low or dead and won't take a charge get a new battery. Good luck!!!!

I don't know what's wrong in your situation - but - I've worked on rollovers that got engine oil on top of the pistons which caused hydro-static lock. Liquids don't compress - so this sort of things locks up an engine. If that IS the case, the oil has to be let out somehow. With a gas engine you could just pull the spark-plugs and crank it over to clean itself out. With a diesel - I guess you'd have to pull the injectors - or if it has glow-plugs - pull them instead. Seems you need to verify if the engine is actually locked or it's just a starter-motor problem.

JD sounds as if he's right on the money. My guess would be oil on top of the pistons, that will lock one up in a heartbeat. How to resolve it on a diesel, I don't know. Gas you just pull the plugs and turn it over and reinstall. If the engine has a lot of hours on it (a lot of engine wear) chances are good if you let it sit for 24 hours it will turn over on it's own. You might try turning it over manually, and both directions first though. If it does sit for a day or so, then turn over it will more than likely start but you will cloud up the whole county for a little while. Oh, don't forget to check all your fluid levels if you haven't already.
