What is a reasonable offer for an early 1940s Farmall A with fair front and good rear rubber, fair to good metal condition, converted to 12 volt system, no attachments, not in running condition? Owner claims the tractor was used this summer, but he has been unable to get the engine running for the last several months. (It will supposedly run for very short periods before stalling out.) Have not been able to try it out, and have no idea about the brakes, clutch, or any drive components. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Dubba,I just sold 3 Farmalls to a man in Iowa.An A,B & 200 none of which ran but had good tin and tires. Each brought more than $600 apiece and he came to Texas for them. He said he was pleased with them when he saw them. Tx Jim

My guess would be $100-500 but that also depends on if the engine is locked up, what the oil looks like I.E. is there water in the oil. Any cracks in the block that are hidden. Any welds that shouldn't be there . ETC.

Some people will disagree but I wouldn't pay any more than 3 or 4 hundred for an A that is not running, and only fair rubber.
