I need replacement parts for these two items. A new front axle for the 4020 tractor and a new wheal for the auger. They were purchased in 2004. Do you know of anyone who repairs these?

Thanks

Kathy, Get in contact with Abilene Machine @ Abilene Kansas. You didn't say weather or not you 4020 has a loader on it. If you do this the only way to go!!! Most of the time the upgrade is from the heiver 30 series tractors like a 4230 would have. You will never have a frontend problem again! Good luck, Hope this helps.
Later,
John A.

I had the front axle on my 3020 welded years ago- added some reinforcing strips and it stands up ok, but check with salvage yards for a heavier unit- like from a 4320, 5020, etc. Can access 11 yards at 1-888-845-8456. Many other yards around the country as well. Google for tractor salvage yards.

The 4320 wide front is the same. That wide front was used from the 2510 to the 4320. The 4520, 4620 & 5020 all have a different heavy front end with different steering that takes a lot of work to make fit and work on a 4020.

Do you mean the rim that a tire mounts on for the auger - you mean a grain auger? Is it a standard size rim, 4, 5, or 6 bolt holes? Or is it a special rim with just a sleeve hole through it?

The front end: Many get welded back together. Looks kinda rough. Many get replaced with one from a salvage yard. There are 1000's of ag salvage yards across the country. Many get replaced with a stronger front end from a slightly different JD tractor (I assume you have a loader on the tractor....). But I'm not up on JD very well, so can't say what or how.

Kathy, Other than the 4020, try and find out the model number/brand of the auger and if its a JD, run it through www.jdparts.com . If you don't have a password/login name for that its really worth it - just type in 4020 (and whatever the auger is, that is if its a JD) in the model search and you should be able to find the parts you need using the sectional index.
