Hi. I have a John Deere AR tractor and if I use it say for example drying grain the other day it will run good for about 2 hours and if I shut it off it will not start again until I change the sparkplugs. I have tried all different kinds of plugs in it and it doesnt seem to matter. I always have to go back to 2 old sparkplugs that are about 20 years old and it seems to run on them. If i put new ones in it will run good for a short time and then they are no good. If any one has some info for me i would appreciate it.

After it shuts off like that check to see if you still got spark at the plug. It could be a bad coil? Bad wires? Wires heat and expand in coil and other wires also then not making connection and when things cool by the time you change the plugs it is making connection again until it heats up again and shorts and dies. Let us know more about the plug condition and what plugs you are using? Hard to say without knowing more. How long was it sitting before this? Could be fuel or fuel flow problems also?

That's not possible. At least I've never heard of that. Do a compression check and see if your cylinders/pistons are up to snuff. If you have good compression, check it after running. Also check to see if you have spark at the plug after running.

Nope, not possible. Can't wait for other responses.
