I think it's a shame when you destroy parts of history like Jesse James has, not to mention all the items he has turned into junk. Then the great show, ( SURE IT IS !!!!! ) and Jesse ( OH I'M THE BEST ) James try to play people watching like they are stupid enough to beleave these beating death stunts, ect. give me a break!!!! He should drop the act, grow up, and stop trying to destroy things, use his talent to create something besides junk. It's a waste when such a smart, talented person is so stupid !!!!! !!!

There was 2 shows that really bothered me. I can understand taking junk and having fun with it, but they often like to start out with mint condition stuff. Remember the white mustang 5.0L convertible they bought and turned it into a lawnmower?. That car was nice before they started, paint was mint, no rust whatsoever even up underneith the car, like new all over and I believe they announced it was real low miliage. They gutted it, trashed all the parts they removed by throwing the parts across the shop into a pile. I don't understand why they purpously ruin so many mint condition parts that are easily saleable. Remember the car they went to a car show and bought?. A real collector car and all restored, trying to remember now what they turned it into, but they ruined that too and then looked up the guy they'd bought it off of and showed him what they'd done to it, and the guy was very heart broken, said he'd have never sold it to them if he had known what they were going to do with it, he had loved the car and had hoped that he was selling it to someone who would love and cherish it like he had. I think Jesse James is very talented, but his talent is being totally wasted creating Monster Garage stuff, his show isn't even inspiring, the projects are pretty worthless, taking good stuff and turning it into something completely worthless and wasting lots of money doesn't do much for me. I don't watch it anymore.

They obviously destroy something prestine for the shock value. If everybody quit watching for this reason, they would stop.

That whole show seemed to be based on a nonsensical theme to begin with. "Building a crop circle machine"...doesn't sound like a very viable project to begin with.
The one memorable project in my opinion that they have completed was: the conversion of the BMW SUV to accommodate a handicapped child. They need more programs like that.

Usually enjoy the off-beat of that show, only caught the 2nd 1/2 of it, but was pretty surprised at the ending there, didn't make sense to me at all. Just a waste. Waiting for bearings & steering box parts, & then toast it. For what? Coulda toasted it without bothering to work on it at all, no point to it.

Lost my interest in the show.

I don't see anything wrong with it. They waste a lot less rare iron than they do in any given movie or cop show. Plus it can be educational. They aren't going around and stealing all this old crap - they are buying it, just like everyone else. If someone wants to save them all, go ahead, Jesse and his gang will find something else to work on.

It is subtly different for me - the stated object was to make something. At the end, the 'something' was ttoally wasted.

That ain't right.

When the Myth Busters wanted to find out if explosives could get hardened cement out of a concrete truck, & they blew the truck into pieces the size of a quarter - that was cool. They had a goal, & they acheived it. Spectacularly.

They did not waste time fixing the truck, only to blow it up. The set about trying to blow it up.

Cool.

With this tractor & wheat stomper, they said the goal was to make a wheat stomper.

But there was no pay-off. Intead, they flame-threw the tractor & barrels. They did not achieve their goal.

If they had set out to burn up a tractor, well that can be cool. Show me where the charges were placed in the barrels, show me where the accelerants were added, etc. Burn it up, & then you educate me & acheive the goal & all is cool.

Bu to pretend to build a project, & then just mess it up at the end - no point to that.

They totally failed, in my mind. That is what I take away from the show.

I'll put it a different way - it was like going to a football game, it ends in a tie, & they let one team win by hitting a home run.

It just doesn't make sense. Fans in the stands want to see a touchdown or field goal, not some running back with a bat in his hands.... Feel cheated.

If the goal was to flame throw an old tractor & see what happens, cool. Let's get into that.

If the goal was to make a wheat roller, cool. Let's see what we can roll.

So, they built their deal they wanted to build. But the show was a failure. It did not deliver what they stated it would deliver.

I enjoyed the motorcycle (ended up being a trike) he made out of the big diesel truck way back when. His build team didn't get the concept that it should be inspired by the truck, and so on. Was interesting to watch.

Not that this is important. :) I'm just having a frosty morning, waiting for the sun to do it's work so I can do mine. :)

I don't like the demo derby's as they destroy better stuff than what a lot of us have to use to make a living and unless I can get it on antenna I can't get it, that leaves just NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX

The thrower really did not hurt it and the pyro technics were all for effects that tractor was not hurt that bad , and besides it was a old mowing tractor that had been sitting for 10 years probley had a million miles on it from mowing I bet it was well worn out .

Well if it was worn out then it sure didn;t smoke much and it also sounded very good. My point is its hard enough to find parts let alone have one thats running end up as scrap iron.

Yeah, thats a pretty retarded show- Alot of time is wasted, alot of good metal is too...and its funny, I had a Mac guy actually think he(Jesse James) is cool and a selling point for his tools. I get annoyed by him(Jesse James), and frankly, it helps me to avoid the Mac guy, to a degree

To me the entire show is a waste. Massive amounts of money , good parts are slapped togather to create a POS. Have yet to see them create anything of real value or craftsmanship.

I didn't see the whole show but I caught a couple of minutes of the end. I stopped surfing mainly because I was interested in the flame thrower. I figured from the paint it was a Deere but didn't really get to see what kind of tractor it was. I used to enjoy watching Monster Garage. It started out as a pretty good show with people from around the country, in different trades, using their skills and working together to make something unique. Unfortunately the TV execs decided that what they needed was more egos, more fighting amongst the "craftsmen",etc, etc. So instead of ordinary guys like us they wound up with all the "top" customizers arguing about who's right, when anybody with any mechanical sense at all knows their all wrong, bringing enough controversy to "make it exciting", and ultimately ruined a perfectly good show. I used to watch it every Monday with my room mates son, but not anymore. Thankfully it's now on after his bed time because I don't want him learning from TV that the idiotic crap that goes on on the show now is "cool", and that if something doesn't work exactly right the first time your a "loser" and might as well blow up whatever you did because it isn't good enough...Just another case of a good show ruined by "Hollywood"..... .I also used to love Junkyard Wars, but they too got too Hollywood and ruined a perfectly good show. Now I much preffer Overhaulin. Foose is a true craftsman in every sense of the word, and if his personality is the same in person as it is on the show he seem like he'd be just a plain 'ole nice guy...Now though they've changed that show and Courtney is gone and she was always the best part of the show....

Yeah, those nuts are not far from the tree! I cringe when i see them turn something into a pile of junk. And, when Pimp my Ride takes on a car, they toss everything onto the garbage pile! Well, i guess it sells products on TV. I just wish they'd pimp my 91 Ford Ranger pickup! I'd like to fix it right, but, being allergic to spray painting, i'm just brushing it with a sponge brush! Looks much better than it did when i bought it! Only has 178,000 + miles on it! A couple cab corners and some wide chrome mouldings complete the fix-up!

Who do they think they are fooling. We never see any blueprints or even hand drawings. It impossible to do what they are doing without a lot of Rube Goldberg engineering. Just my opinion. Jerry
