I just bought my two very first tractors! A 1947 Farmall M and a 1942 Farmall H. They need work, but that is most of the fun, right? :-) working on them yourself and getting them running. I am going to haul them home tomorrow and start to work right away. There are many tractors like these, but these are MINE!! :-)

Hey congratulations!

When I first got my 60 running, after dragging it out of the fenceline where it sat 10 years, it almost brought a tear of joy to my eye. I was even more happy the first day I took it cultivating. Getting them running is the best part, working them is even better!

I wish you all the good luck and fun I have had thus far.

If you need a front mount four row cultivator for it, let me know... ;-)

Dawg gone it! you done went and upped me one. I just bought my 47 M about a month ago, but I don't have an H (yet). Guess I cant be the newby of the bunch anymore. My "M" didnt run when I got it but with a little work I had it running soon. Nothing quite like the feeling I got the first time it fired up and I climb up in the saddle and took it for a test drive. Good luck and congradulations. P.S. I got, and still get, some of the best advise ever from the "Farmall" forum.

HI
Kirk

Make sure you measure the treailer befor you go after the "M"....mine is 88" outside the rear tires ....most car trailers are around 72"....my "M" weights right at 5000# with rear weights..... the "H" will be no problem its smaller and lighter .....

good luck Don S.W. OHIO

Not to worry, Don, I am not using a car trailer, but a heavy-duty truck with a 30 foot trailer, that way I can haul both in one trip.

Just a little idea for you. If they haven't been run in say more then 6 months I'd fill all the cylinders with tranny fluid. That will help lube the cylinders and also unstick rings/valves. Hope you have fun. By the way you may have a problem now. ITS CALLED TRACTOR FEVER LOL

Congrats on your tractors. I have a 48 M. Probably the most reliable tractor I have.
