I am looking for a 3 pt. mower to mow around a farm pond.
Live in Michigan but wife wants a few days away so driving say 8-900 miles one way is not a problem.
Wasn't sure where to ask this so I might be in trouble asking here.
thanks len

If you want to drive to Atlanta, GA, I have an IH sickle mower I could part with. It hasn't been used since 1984 when my dad stopped putting up hay. Mower has been stored in a shelter. Mower has a belt that you might need to replace.

If anyone has a three point sickle bar mower in central MN I might be interested! ( central to north, as it's going to Kooch. Co.) Russ

Be aware that sickle bar mowers are poor choices in areas where grass is thick and tangled as it may well be around your pond. We"ve had fits with them, including hay harvesters with sicklebar type mowing mechanisms here in central Michigan this summer.

gee -- they want you to move it to want adds and sell you a mower. having said that -- new holland 450/451 are great mowers. any 3pt mower will fit any 3pt tractor. some may need adjustments. with the disc mowers the sickles are gettng a little hard to find. i gougth 1 several years ago here in my county (cullman alabama) fro $200. spent the winter redoing it with new blade, new paint, took all the self raising, leveling gear off that went with it originally and made it a straigth 3pt hook up and put a hyd cylinder on it to control the blade. works great, all i use it for to mow road banks, ditch banks and around the ponds.

Yeah darnit! Post that in the classifieds!

Having said that, I have a three point mower I no longer use. What kind of tractor you looking to put it on? This is a Ford mower made to fit an N series.

We could mount our Ford cat.1 3pth mower on several different Fords or Fergusons. The biggest Ford was the 800. So possibly if you have tractor with 3pth cat 1 hitch it would work.
