The Fate Root Heath Company of Plymouth, Ohio, which made Silver King Tractors, also made a hand crank corn sheller. They were made by the Root Heath company and were billed as "never fail". They still come up on ebay and in fact there is one there now. Check out item #7359649872.

Cyrus McCormick made the first threshing machine to have a patent. Other companies like Russel and Advance may have been in the market as well for all types of equipment. McCormick's first patent was 1834. I really do not know how many or who were in the bussiness of paving the way to mechanized farming, but thank God they did.
