took a closer look at them the other day.. though not by much. was in a hurry. :*(
but the power plant they got is made by perkins.
I had never heard of them before. any good?
I would not do any plowing with it just pull the baler and rake hay. so I think they looked heavy enough. and my sister workes there and like I said before gets 20% off. well she said that they can get parts and even said they will work on them. dunno for shure, after all it is my sister. :!) I am going to check it out my self the next time I am up that way.
and they are made in chink-ville.

Look at 'em close and you'll see that they are nothing more than athe same tractor that Northern Tool sells and the same ones at those travelling tent sales. I would really stay away from something like that. If you're going to go that route, get a Mahindra.

I have seen these tractors - but never owned or operated. My opinion - for what you will spend on the larger versions of these tractors ($10K+) you would be able to buy a suitable and reliable used Deere, Ford/NH or Case/IH that you KNOW you could find parts for, even if it is 20 or more years old. And if you take care of it, you will likely get almost all of your money back when you sell it, maybe more if you bought it right.

Rural King only offers 6mos limited warranty with an extended warranty that you would have to purchase. If the Chinese company that makes them goes belly up, or Rural King decides they don't want to sell tractors anymore, good luck finding parts. Rural King may be able to get parts, but how long to get one they don't have in stock? As previously stated, the Perkins should be a good engine, but what about the hydraulics, trans, electrical, etc?

I live near 3 Rural Kings and have only seen two of these tractors when I'm out and about. Both were the smaller 20-25hp models and appear to be set up for mowing and caring for oversized lawns. Why not see if RK will tell you who has bought one like you are interested in and go talk to the guy that bought it and see what he thinks about his purchase. Then, on the sly, talk to the guy that is working on them for RK and see what he thinks about them.

I'm not knocking Rural King and I shop there often, I'm just not sure that they would be on my short list of places to buy a tractor and have it serviced, Chinese or not.

Yep, Ive seen plenty of Perkins diesels n believe them to be pretty darn good, Massey Ferguson used them. I suppose they would be plenty heavy for the work you mentioned. I just dont see parts n service EVER being any good and as far as resale value, use one a year and even if its kept looking like new but you try n sell it, Im afraid any knowledgeable/informed buyer wouldnt wanna give very much as compared to if it were a known established brand like Deere etc.

However, they may be fine and its your money n your call, so go for it n best wishes n good luck with it.

Just an uninformed opinion, John T

The engine you may be able to find parts for in time but I would worry about every thing else that could break in one .you could end up with a over priced paper weight .
