hey there guys, got a question for you, hope somebody can help me out.
my sister just got a job at rural king and there fore gets 20% off of the stuff they sell.
well they happen to sell tractors, and by the size I would guess around 70-80 hoss for the bigger of the group.
but are they any good? if they are I might look into buying one next year.
has any of you taken a look at 'em?
I my self have not got a chance to get up close to one...
but from what I could tell as I drove past they look O.K...
but you know how that can go.
sorry for the long post,Tim Shultz

Walk away from them they will fight you tooth and nail on every thing brought back , the big wig from Mattoon and I went round and round after there tire shop ruined a brand new tire and goughed a new alum wheel he told me tough sh!t that he was liable for the tire or wheel . After a few calls to the BBB and then the attorney general he decided that he could cough up the 475.00 plus the cost of the off breed tire I had to buy some where else . So I would stay the man is a selfish greedy out for himself prick .

No, never been to that one. I've been to the one in Mt. Carmel, Il. My mom has a small farm there. (10 acres of the original family farm, been in the family over 100 yrs) I really like that store, real nice people and a good selection of tractor stuff. Much better than TSC I think. Wish they had one in Oh. last I heard they had 5 stores under the Rural King name.

Until right now I have never heard of Rural King, let alone Rural King tractors. That said, I don't think there are very many 70 hp tractors made in the US anymore. Most, regardless of what color or whose name is on them are imports. My neighbor bought a Mahindra, it looks ok and he has been happy with it. Find out who makes Rural King tractors and base your decission on the whole group from that Mfg. Also find out where they are made and how long the company has been in the tractor business. If they are a long term company, shipping thousands of tractors to the US under lots of names, then future parts shouldn't be that much of an issue. My guess is that Rural King, the store, isn't going to take trades or do much service work, but if the discount is deep enough over what you would pay at a real implement dealer, then it's sure something to think about.

Tim, I took a brief glance at some of those the last time I was at Rural King. They looked a tad on the light side to me but regardless, a tractor is something I would NEVER buy at a Rural King etc. Reason being, imagine needing parts or service on them a few years down the road and you go to NAPA and everywhere else to try n get parts or service I BET IT WILL BE EXTREMELY DIFFICULT. Even though they havent made many tractors in yearsssss ss you can still find new or used tractor dealers n salvage yards or even NAPA etc to get parts for the old Farmall or AC or Oliver or Deere, but I can just see them laughing at you if you need oparts for a Rural King sold unit????? ????

Jut my opinion, its your hard earned money and they may be fine so its your call, but think a few years ahead if Rural King goes under and even if not I dotn ever see them as having parts or service to amount to much.

Take care n God Bless

John T

john is right .. the local RK has no mechanic or parts at all.

we are friends of the manager... he's about fed up himself... he cant get anything he wants in the store--- Matton tells him what to sell

he wants more US tools and such... NO cheapest we can get is all

he gets cultivator sweeps in December.. NONE in JUNE. only gets ordered when all is sold.

THAT SAID I LOVE THE STOREs and buy there weekly.. OUR TSC even sends some people over there because they dont have 1/2 the stuff they addvertise.
