Is this site "hanging" for anyone else? Often, when clicking on different board, or even a different post, it won't open for a few seconds, or even the better part of a minute.

This has been for the last number of weeks, and seems especially bad today.

I'm on fast DSL, and it doesn't seem to matter much if I use IE6, or Firefox, or even another computer.

I have seen where the site hangs at times and takes upto 30 sec to get a page. Even from work with a lan hooked up to an OC12. Just wrote it off as higher traffic for the moment.

I have not had any problems, go on this site every day early in the morning, maybe that is why I haven't had any problems. I am on a wireless internet service, my phone lines are to outdated to handle DSL. Was on dial-up for 5 years and got tired of the slow stuff, been on this wireless for 7 months and not a bit of trouble, but you do need the virus protection and firewall, which ain't no problem once you get used to it.

Could be just a screwup on the route to the server. Nothing to be done about it, but if you have time and want to trace the route and see if theres a problem just for the hell of it get itlights or one like it and have fun. Some similar programs have map software included so you can can see where your data actually goes.

Really don't need a special program for that. Here is how you do it.
WinXP/2000 start->run type in cmd
this brings up a command prompt
type in tracert ytmag.com and hit enter
This will trace the route and show latency for each leg of the route

Win 95/98 is the same but at run type in, command

Mine shows as the following. I *'d out the first few IPs and server names due to security concerns. I work at an ISP.

Tracing route to ytmag.com [64.113.213.241]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

I'm used to it, I'm still on dial-up. There is a little delay, but not too bad so far.

I have that problem also,just a bad case of good business,overloaded. To much rain,not enough rain,many people wanting to chat at one time. Maybe site engineer trying to weed out techinal problems. Be patient, I'm almost three sheets in the wind.

Something is going on. I've noticed it being slow for several days. My cookies were all cleaned out recently and I run anti-spyware programs every few days. Still a slow site for now.
