Well - I went to an auction a month or so ago, and came up with 40 pieces of tin about 12' long for $2. At another auction, I bought some 3" ringshank tin nails for a quarter. My neighbor gave me 25 telephone poles today (all are about 20' long). A couple of years ago, I bought 240 mobile home trusses for $35. Nephew dropped off 4 20' treated 2x6's and 5 10' 4x4's he scrounged. I figure that I have about $3 in material. My nephew and I started at about 10:00 this morning (3 OCT 05) and are about 3/4 done. It ain't the best lookin' coop in the world, but for the price it ain't bad. Might have to post a pic when I'm done. Thanks for all the ideas!

sounds good, but don't forget about foxes and other such critters who will also soon spot the new "meat locker". Might want to trench in some pig wire around the coop so they don't tunnel in.

Way to go! I am trying to find the cheapest way to replace an 8x10 storage shed at my house that is all rotted out. Appearance counts, though, so I can't plan on scrounging ALL my material.
