I was wondering if anybody round here would have any suggestions on how to quiet down the interior of the cab on my 1170 Case. Im getting sick of ear plugs. Thanks :D

Yep, It's going to be nice and breezy when you're feeding them heifers in that 3 ft. snow :)

We have cured several cabs of noise. Removed all panels and coverings and sprayed foam then reinstalled panels. Drilled small holes in cab supports and filled all posts with foam. Foamed the underside of all floor plates. applied foam over all dash panels that could be foamed and applied nagahyde to cover them. You have to be creative there. Packed insulation material in all behind dash spaces and control towers. Sound will find its way in through the smallest of gaps.

The foaming also made the A/C systems work better.

Harold Electric like Tim said. Ask them for samples of the sound deadening materials. Also couple other places I've seen the mats and material. Shoups www.shoupparts.com and K&M www.tractorseats.com You find some more in farm magazines or a search.

Harold Electric Co. out of Washington state sells a lot of Ag related products to include Fehr Cab Interior kits. Yours would run you $244.35. There website is>Link

This>Link most likely includes the insulated materiel to cover both fenders and the floor under/around your seat.

I purchased an air conditioner kit as well as a cab interior kit for my Case 1394 when I was redoing it...and I was real satisfied with the customer service and quality of products. When ordering, make sure to tell them what transmission/shifter setup you have as this may make a difference in the kit.

Good luck
Tim

Check to see that all the sound deadening insulation is in place. Check to see that the windows and door(s) are closing. Are there rubber isolators (mounts) under the cab and are they worn out? When dad bought his 1973 1070 it was the quietest tractor on the market as I recall.

I was thinking about covering the whole interior with old used carpet, i was wondering if this would help deaden the sound a lil bit. The only insulation that i know of is in the roof.

There's some company that advertises in one of the magazines I get that sells cab replacement interiors. I'll try to locate the name and contact info and reply to your post.
