was using bio diesel before it was the thing to do. started out using 5% and now for past i believe 2 years busing 25%. no ill effects except when cold i mean cold wineter belove 32 have a heck of a time getting ti through the filters even with powerservice. cant prove it but i hhonestly believe for some reason howes is better w/bio diesel and ant gelling seem to have more luck with howes. once warm and some warm dumping back into the tank no problems at all

it's fine except all diesel engine *US anyways* recommend no more than 5% (B5) mixture. There are lots of people using more than 5% with no immediate problems noticable, but it goes against OEM recommendations.

Well pilgrim, what does OEM know? Nothing. No body funded them to investigate it so nothing was done so nothing is recommended.

Let's keep things in proper perspective. Besides long term effects of things take time and money. Both of which cost money. Who has the money or is willing to spend it out of corporate profits.

If you haven't looked under a Dodge PU lately, you need to do so. They are running full bore Fixin to run the other 2 lazy Detroiters outta da business.

I'm not saying that the OEMs are right, I'm just saying that that is all they recommend. If you ran more than 5% in a new vehicle and had fuel related problems, their fault or not they won't stand behind it.

The owners manual on my new Dodge PU addresses alternative fuels and oils, like syn's and alcohol/gasoline blends (gasohol?)....since it is gas.

They don't prohibit them, they just recommend that you use some discretion and common sense and they put a number on the ratio that they think is tolerable. Sounds like a point of arbitration to me as they seem to be open for suggestions.

Just took delivery of 1000 gallons of B20 Tuesday morning so it better :-), been using it most of the past 2 years. I like it, seems to be a little bit more white smoke on start up and a little easier cold start but other than that no changes observed.

Good thing too, I was at a state Farm Bureau committee meeting today and one of my friends from the southern part of the state ordered diesel today and they were completely out of farm diesel except some B80. He's ready to chop corn and nothing to put in the tank.
