To save time, bottom line is don"t buy from Exxon or Mobil for many weeks,

For all the nay sayers this is what the Unions do when they strike. They only strike against one company and it works but everyone would need to follow suit. It doesn't matter that independents buy from them they will still loose a sizable share of the market and lower prices will happen.

This in no way would ever work in a million years. It's called "Supply & Demand". If the demand goes down so does the price. If the demand goes up so does the price. Same goes for supply, large supplies reduce price and scarce supplies increase price. Common sense. Nice try though.

Won't even sort of work...
Now me, I drive an old diesel Mercedes and I'm gonna get me a veggie oil conversion so I can start burning veggie oil thats grown right here in the USA.
The kit is like $1500 installed, veggie oil can be bought in bulk for like $1/gal, I drive 21,000 miles a year. I'd be an idiot not to get the conversion.

That is not the way the world commodity market works. All you'd be doing is shifting the $$ to another supplier.

May work,
However, I say "a bushel of corn for a barrel of oil"... and quit giving oil rich third world countries military hardware, food and medical supplies - let"s trade or sell them!!
Also, since we spent a lot of money freeing Iraq from their villiage idiot, and continue to spend money bringing those people into the, now past, 20th century... how about "a barrel of oil for every dollar we spent".
I know - I"m such a redneck... America has always been the most generous country on the planet, but the time has come for us to start taking care of ourselves.

Bought gas this morning at a mobil station in upstate Ny for $289.9, Pilot station near by $299.9, maybe Mobil already got the edge. But I do agree we need a national coordinated effort to bring change. Lou
