I'm looking to purchase a MF 35 Utility, and thought I would grab the serial numbers to check year, horse power, etc. The trouble I run in to is my numbers are nothing like the ones I see in manuals or on the net. The tag that I'm pulling the serial numbers off of says "MF 35 Utility", and under the number I grab, it says "Serial No.", so I know I have proper information on the tractor, and the right number. Number is "UGF655000849", and the two numbers on the block are, "Z134 736235" and "Z134 A500P". Can anyone help?? Any opinons on this tractor???

My book shows MF 35 Utility with starting number for 1963 being 655000279 and starting number for 1964 being 655001254. That puts yours squarely in 1963. The MF 35 shows serial numbers as listed on this site. Perhaps someone else can tell us what the differences are between the MF 35 and the MF 35 Utility.

Mowr,
I thank you for the info on the year and HP of that tractor. As for your question on what the "Utility" brings to the table, I believe its similar to the "Industrial" on a Ford. This tractor seems to have a heavier axle, tires, and the paint is yellow; all contrary to the MF 35's I see on the net. It also has an origional loader.
Now I appreciate the help you've already given me, but you would'nt happen to know what the "UGF" at the start of the serial number means would you? Thanks again

Sorry, Bise. I don't have the answer for that one. Perhaps 'john [UK]' over on the MF or Ferguson board can help.
