Do we know for sure that "Kim" is a she. Have a brother-in-law named Kim. I also have a wife named Kim. She a girl though. I know, I checked.

Kim owns it, and we are but guests. Thanks to her generosity and willingness to let us talk a wide lattitude of topics. I have noted only the most blatant topics removed, (and yes I stepped over the bounds once or twice too,). It's her house, and her rules. She runs this on contributions - Why not help out - details elswhere on the board.

jwm, Kim is the person who developed this web site out of her passion for antique tractors and other related subjects. There is no question as to "why she thinks she owns this board". The simple fact is that she does, and not only does she own it, she is a grand steward as well. We are only guests here and may continue to grace this site insofar as our conduct remains civil and respectful to our gracious host, Kim. I, for one, think that she gives us a lot of lattitude in our conduct, but will, as she should and has the right to, censor and delete that conduct that she deems inappropriate or disrespectful. As Cowman mentioned, this is Kim"s house, and we all gather here to discuss or sometimes debate our shared interests. While sometimes we may disagree, we all come back and hopefully respect eachother. Come back, come often, and get to know some of the nicest folks you"d ever want to meet. There"s all kinds, just like in your neighborhood. I, myself, cannot thank Kim enough for her hospitality, her patience, and her hard work. This is truly one of the classiest sites on the internet.

Whith some of the remarks made around here lately, about this site being run by a fascist. It is easy to see why "why does she/he think they own this board?" could be taken as someone looking for a fuss. However you stated that was not your intent so that is good enough for me. As for the guys who think nothing gets deleted on Tales or KL why not drop in ovr there and ask if it ever happens or not. You will find that it does.

James. It's OK, glad you found us here. Maybe you don't understand how the internet works. Think of each site as a magazine with many pages. each site has to be maintained by somebody, It has to be hosted on a server so the information can be relayed out to you and I. It takes a lot of hours of hard work and costs money. I am not sure but I think Kim has her own servers. They are basicly just large expensive computers that take a lot of electicity and are expensive to buy and maintain. They are hooked into the internet 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and have to be monitored for problems constantly. To have a website you either own your own server or pay someone for the privilege of using theirs.

NC you have it exactly right. I work for an Internet Provider and sit near the NOC (network operations center)where all the servers are. Blow up that room and the entier company is no more. There is always someone there to tweek things and keep it running 27/7/365. There is a lot involved even for the servers for this site and the constant monitoring of the forums. Kim must need to be there alot to keep it up and running. I have never seen this site down for any length of time so that is a testimate to her dedication to this site.

Kim keep up the good work I haven't seen a better forum anywhere.

Hi Cosmo,

Well I disagree with you as like was said these forums run pretty close to a coffee shop where some guys just converse amoung themselfs 90% of the time or the same that happens at the local coffee shop.

What alot of new guys don't see is how the forms run themselves. This pictular forum gets off topic at sometimes as it's kind of a general tractor forum so it gets dumped on with alot of personal opinion stuff that usually ends in some hurt feelings. That why the forum's have rules to follow and some topic's get deleted.

Now there is one forum that is very easy on any topic and that is the tractor tales forum. Many subjects are discussed there that's not discussed on any other forum on this website. That's kind of it's use wheather it was designed that way or not. I'm not really sure as I don't talk there alot but I don't think any topics get deleted there.

You might give Tractor Tales a shot as it may be more to your liking.

I can't make sents out of the times on the posts.

In beautiful Chimacum, Washington. It's in an out-of-the-way area of western Washington, and most Washingtonians have come to grips with the fact that you really can't get there from here. There used to be several dairy farms in the valley, but down to one or two now, I think. A chicken farm in the area was the inspiration for the Ma and Pa Kettle movie series back in the day, perhaps a dubious distinction. I won't say its a "sleepy" town, but I believe the major industry is the YTMAG board.

B/c she does. We pay our subscription, or freeload or what ever but she owns the board, writes the code, buys the hardware, makes sure the bills get paid, etc. Kim's nice, she lets us have an extreme degree of freedom in what we post and what we say; one of the most lightly moderated boards I belong to.

When you ask who someone is and why they think they own something, it's taken as attitude. Perhaps a better question would have been " Who is Kim and what is her role on this forum?". When you asked why she thought that she owned this site, that was attitude. The simple straight forward answer is "Because she does!".
