i went and looked at a couple old tractors today and two of them caught my eye there was a farmall model A with tire chains but no carb its been sitting for 3 years said the gentle man, looks like its been kept out in the weather for some years minor metal work to restore. also there was an oliver hg clettrac with no hood / grill and the motor out but there along with an inline six for it from what i gather it did run at one time but not now it has really nice looking tracks. so my question is whats a reasonable price for each of these units? i dont wanna get snookered on this if i choose to buy them. thanks guys

If it is an Oliver HG (originally a Cletrac HG), I don't think that 6 cylinder engine was from the HG. The HG's had a 4-cylinder Hercules flathead, at least when the HG was a Cletrac it did. As for price, it's a tough call without more information. Does he have an asking price or is he one of the "make me an offer" crowd?

as far as i know theres both the 6 adn the original 4 or at least there better be but and i dont know anyway to differientiate between a regualr cletrac or an oliver hg sorry but im not that advanced they look too much alike to me. The guy gave me a price of 250-300 bucks for that mind you the motor is there but not on and probibly not working. would it be worth it as an investment even for the tracks alone since i plan on one day having either an hg or a cletrac or would i be abel to restore it from that condition i have a source for some specific parts such as teh hood and grill. would it be worth it
