Maybe a month ago someone asked what a 1086 would bring on a farm sale. One answer was 10,000 or maybe less. A 986 and 2 1086 models sold in the neighborhood Saturday. According to some of the local people there, prices were from 19,000 for one to 22,000 for the top one. Two of the tractors I guess also went to Oklahoma. The sale was in northwest Ohio.

that sale was talked about over at the red power board. a couple of guys went to it and i guess those were some exceptional tractors. there"s even pictures of them. yes your average 1086 with 8000 hours will bring 10k, but these rigs were like new with only 2000 some hours on them. all but one were one owner tractors from what i understood.

HOLY COW!! Just saw a really nice 1086 go for under $8000, and a 1486 for $8200! Both in really good shape. Even Greenies out here don't bring $22,000. Friend of mine sold his extremely nice, well maintained 4020 for $7200.

Many strange things happen at farm auctions, if those tractors were extremely nice, low houred tractors, then they were probably worth what they brought. I would not want to appraise a 1086 at $22,000 just because of one example.

That is because tractors from Northwest Ohio are well taken care of....unlike several places, those tractors were well preserved...that is a nice area and I dont live there.

Good area ? I'm more towards the middle north central Ohio. Stuff gets pretty rusty and beat up around here. Lots of moisture and fence rows.
