I am discing a abandon tomato field. I have been noticing a poping noise when turning. I do not like noises I don't know the source of, since I am using a fairly old JD 5020. It was not every time I turned. I was getting somewhat concearned, until I figured out the noise was from running over beer bottles at the end of the field. I guess the tomatoe pickers like their beer. Stan in calif.

And a beer bottle makes a LOUD NOISE when you run over it with a tractor. Used to work for the county mowing off roadsides before we had a return bottle law in this state!

If your front wheels have separate wheels and rims, try tightening the bolts that hold the rim to the wheel. Farmall H did the same thing. Tightened the bolts.....no more popping noises.

Wheel bearings? How long since you've repacked them?

I had a front wheel drive car that did that. New CV joints fixed it.
