I have a MF 231 it came with ROPS alredy installed. Today is the first time I used on a mowing job. It has a top, and I keep thinking something was falling on me, it was the top. I like to stand up sometimes to look for things, and give me butt a rest, and hit my head on the top. The biggest problem I had was the top of the ROPS hit a large tree branch and before I knew it the front was three feet off of the ground, and going higher. I got to the clutch in time. to get things back on the ground. I am about ready to take it off. Has this happened to any of you? Stan in calif.

Really happy that you had your wits about you and knew the fastest way to stop what was happening and got her back under control. I think everyone that mows has stood up for a breather....or when your belly is a jigglin from being rough.

ROPS is whoopee, but really you have to be strapped in the seat for it to work. If you roll your tractor, your rops may stop the tractor from crushing the driver's station, but nuttin says the driver is still sitting in the station.

I use a rear exhaust non covered tractor for mowing for the reason mentioned..... but for out in the field, I definitely like the canopy.
