Son lost back CV joint on his '90 Bronco II. Parts stores don't have repair kits, can't find used driveshaft in salvage yards. What are my options here? Vehicle runs well, don't want to loose it over such a simple part. Any suggestions?

I wouldn't want a repair kit to start with, you can get rebuilt shaft's from your auto parts store, for a little more than a repair kit. And then your all most done before you get started..

Thanks for the suggestions, guys. Did some networking, and got hooked up with an automotive driveline shop in Jennison, MI that makes drive shafts. Had one in stock for the Bronco, $190.
Was a work of art - beautifully made - actual universals rather than CV joints, and a slip joint in shaft to allow shaft to expand and contract with rear axle movement. This had a been a point of concern with me, and may have been the reason old one failed. This new one is far better engineered than the factory unit. Grease zerks too! Put it in tonight -runs great.

Try a new shaft from the parts store. Comes with both boots and cv joints. Shouldnt be much over a 100 maybe less.
