Did you pull the valve cover and check for stuck valves yet ? These will bend a push rod or break something if you do get it free.

hey mike I haven't checked the valves yet. Both pistons are down somewhat from the top so I haven't worried about them yet.
Last night I used about a 6' pipe chained to the flywheel. I didn't jump on it but i did bounce it a little with my hands, I don't really know how rough I can get with it with out bending something. Before I quit last night I used a chain and boomer like you were talking about with the comealong. let it soak a while longer can't hurt, but i'll probably end up tearing it down.

The tractor has been in the shed all it's life. The paint is still fair, over all it is in good shape besides the little problem of the motor being stuck.
I messed with it for a while this afternoon never got it to move with a pry bar on the flywheel. Am guessing i'll have to tear it down before it is over. But i'll let it soak till it cools off a little, me and 100 degrees dont get along too well.

Since it's been in the shed things are looking good for it to run again. I just got done freeing up a B. I tried chaining a bar to the flywheel couldn't get it in the right spot to pull or jump on it was straight up in the air. I then thought of a much better/safer way looped the chain through the flywheel hole on top, hooked the come along to it then ran the cable around and over the front of the fylwheel then hooked other end to drawbar frame then tightened it up which rolled the fylwheel forward and it moved very easy. Then worked it back and forth by hand until it would go all the way around.Be careful prying in those slots as sometimes you can break off an ear. TRY THE COME ALONG and report back.

Is that hand start only or does it have a starter?? If it has a starter use it, it will do more then you can do with a bar. On my 1935 B which had been stuck for 10 plus years I ended up makeing a wench for the flywheel that was about 10 foot long and it fit in to the flywheel. but 10 foot does put a lot of push on every thing

Here's one fella's. Make a fitting that goes in your spark plug hole and rig it up to the SCV on your tractor. Take the other plug out and put a long slinder pod like an CB antiana so when that piston comes up you will know. Go easy at first, no luck, rev her up and give it to her. That is if its gas or LP.

Turpentine can be hard to find now days. It took me going to about 10 places to find any and when I did I got all they had and was told that was the last they would ever have. I have since found a place to get it again but its 30 miles from me. Its a farm and home supply place.

Was this tractor sitting outside and for how long ?? Have you pulled off the valve cover and checked for stuck valves yet ??

Nothing wrong with trying to free it up first. If you do get it free it will make a tear down much easier if needed. I have freed up several and got them running with good results, but these were usually sitting inside or not very long outside.

Well doing it right in one person book is differant then in another persons book. I have 3 or 4 tractors that I have never pulled any more then the valve cover, and they where stuck. All of them run good and use little to no oil other then my 1935 JD-B and it does use a little oil but it also has the same rings in it that where in it when my grandfather was useing it on the farm in the 40s. So some times you don't need to pull the head etc.
