You will have to find out what bell housing and trans you have to change it. I know some of the 2.5 tons had Continental, White or Macks in them. We have two five tons for fire trucks and one has the Continental mulit-fuel and other has Cummins 250 but they have different transmissions too. Try some of these places for some help too.

I'm glad you found some info on it. The folks at Antelope and Memphis know those trucks and we get most all our filters and parts from them. Stores in town here can't help much with any parts or filters for those trucks except for the Cummins engines. I forgot about the Hercules too. Was too many vendors and contractors for all those trucks. I have some pics of our trucks but can't find them right now?

The main thing you need to know is what type of flywheel housing and flywheel the engine you have now has. When you know that you can then find another engine with the same type of housing to fit or one you can adapt to fit. Check out the site for Davidson sales. Click on-- tech talk--and then on bulliten #13. It will give you all the different SAE flywheel and housing styles along with the dimensions for them. From that you ought to be able to determine what you need to find to do the swap successfully. Good luck.
