I posted this on Case board also. Northwest Ohio, neighbor to neighbor, (she looks after the place if we are gone), has a Case 300 square nose narrow front with a Ford trip bucket loader. Tractor is rough, think it will run but would need all new wireing & battery, has the generator but not charging (Bad wireing) may need rebuilt, starter should be at least cleaned, exaust pipe missing with the bolts that hold the pipe to manifold broke off in manifold, Grill intact with no dents but heavy rust pitted, hood also rust pitted, seat and fenders rusted thru, think 12 speed, decent 28" rear rubber with fluid and front rubber usable, wheel weights, only remotes hookup to loader and needing new hoses. What would be a fair price to both? I can do a lot of work myself and it would not be for a trailer queen but a worker, the rusted thru fenders would not stop it from working. I have use for a loader tractor and it would handle the machinery I curently have, 2-14" plow, 8 1/2' disk and cultimulcher, 8' field cultivator and other items in that size range. She has no use for it. I am guessing a bit over salvage value but what would salvage value be? I think she would like to have a larger riding garden tractor with snow blower.

I think Old is right on the money- and the amount is small enough to almost certainly alienate the neighbor, who will think you are trying to steal her antique tractor. Its kind of a no-win situation.

Always a problem buying from a friend etc. they feel its worth a lot more but with all the work you will have to put in to it, its not really worth much

Any time I but a tractor unless the guy I get it from leaves I never even try to get it to run. I load them up with the starter if it will turn the engine over that is and go. Most of the time I will have it running before it come off the trailor. Just hate to see what people do when you get it to run before you get it out of site.
